Fall

We had a nice weekend, weather wise. Things are about to change however. Rode bike to the bookstore yesterday. Slow day, worked on overstock all day. Still, it's nice to be away from the noise of the library. Got a copy of Thursday Next: First Among Sequels, by Jasper Fforde, and The Shadow of Saganami, by David Weber.

Got the first season of 30 Rock on sale today. Rode bike around the lakes. Very enjoyable. Very few bikers, though I saw a few going the wrong way on the ped trail. Good day to rake, but our leaves are refusing to come down in a timely manner. Seem to be coming down with someone's cold. Thank you, someone.

Happy Halloween

May your treats be yummy and your tricks be clever. Kate stod me up for trick or treating tonight. She went with a girl friend instead of dear old Dad. Sigh. Not that I want to walk around in the cold and wind, but I've been looking forward to it for twelve months.

Sent in my rebate from for the delivery charge from Sears. I also sent a nice e-mail expressing my displeasure with the extremely long wait for my dryer.

A few of us dressed up at the library today. I went as a media-tie-in. I had a classic Galactica jacket and Star Trek accessories. I could also be classified as genre. I got a compliment on the jacket from a patron. Some of my co-workers out did themselves. We also had lots of food.

The story thus far

I took Kate to see Brian Jacques tonight. She got her copy of Redwall signed and I got a couple of Anne's books signed as well. Brian was a hoot. Kate had a good time. Anne met him several years ago, when he was in town.

Our dryer dies, so Saturday we went out to Sears and ordered a new one. They told us it would be delivered yesterday between 12:45 and 2:45 pm. It showed up around 11:30 pm. I will be calling Sears to request satisfaction. I don't blame the delivery guys, I do blame a system that makes promises it doesn't come close to keeping. It was a gorgeous day and I couldn't go anywhere, while I waited for the dryer to show up. I watched a bunch of episodes of Bones and the movie Elizabeth.

I've been to several new used bookstore in the past few weeks. I rode bike over to the Uncles on Saturday. I'm waiting for our trees to turn color and shed leaves, so that I can clean gutters and rake. The maple out front is showing signs of turning, but it's slow going.

Pumpkin carving tomorrow night.
